Cristiano Ronaldo endured a heartbreaking night as Al Nassr crashed out in the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League after defeating Al Ain on Monday. The Saudis leveled the score at 4-4 on aggregate by winning 4-3 in the second leg, but penalties halted their hard work.
Ronaldo, who scored a penalty in the 118th minute of extra time to send the game to penalties, was the only Al Nassr player to score a penalty goal as his Saudi team
won 3-1 on penalties. The Portuguese legend may have scored the goal that gave Al Nassr life in extra time, but his overall performance was poor. The Manchester United and Real Madrid striker delivered a spectacular performance but missed the goalkeeper from three meters away. With an open goal slot in front of him as usual, Ronaldo missed an opportunity that he could have blindly buried another day.
