While talking to reporters at an event, Jay Shah said that Mohammed Shami’s career is over and he has returned to India. He said that Shami will return for the series against Bangladesh in September. India are expected to play two Tests and three T20Is against the Bangladesh side this season.
India had a great run in the 2023 World Cup, where they won 10 matches and managed to qualify for the final after a gap of 12 years. Much of the credit for India’s dream run before their final win over Australia goes to none other than star player Mohammed Shami. Jay Shah also gave an update on KL Rahul, who missed the last four Tests of the series against England due to injury. Shah said that KL Rahul wanted to bowl and started his rehabilitation process at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
“Shami’s career is over, he’s back in India. Shami’s return is likely for the home series against Bangladesh. KL Rahul wants to undergo an injection, he has started treatment and is in NCA,” PTI quoted Shah as saying.
