A technical error in ICC Test Rankings makes India loses the No.1 position again

On Wednesday, confusion erupted in the cricket world over the ICC Test rankings. News that India would become the number one Test team came after the hosts beat Australia in the first Test at Nagpur. But it was not the real case.

According to the official Cricket Board website, the Indian cricket team overtook Australia with 115 rating points, while Australia had 111. Later in the evening, however, the ICC put Australia back in first place with 126 rating points and India with 115.

The news of India becoming the First Test Team came after the organizers defeated Australia in the First Test in Nagpur, but that was not the case.

The ICC clarified that this was due to an error on his website, which was later corrected.

“The ICC confesses that India was wrongly listed as the No. 1 test team on the website due to a technical error for a brief period on 15th February 2023.

We make an apology for the embarrassment. I’m sorry,” he left a comment at the end of the post.

Australia scored 126 points despite a heavy loss in the first Test against India. India has 115 points and is looking to win the Delhi test to improve their chances of beating the Australians from the top spot.

Indian fans were disappointed by the mistake and trolled the ICC on Twitter.
