Actor Shah Rukh Khan is leading the 2023 TIME100 poll. It is the reader’s choice who voted for the people/groups they think deserve a spot on the magazine’s annual list of the most influential people. 1.2 million people voted and Shah Rukh received 4% of that.
In second place are Iranian women protesting for their rights. They got 3% of the votes. The women also won the magazine’s readers’ poll for Person of the Year 2022. Third place with 2% of the vote went to health workers, who have been on the front lines of the pandemic since 2020.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took fourth place with 1.9% of the vote each. Harry made headlines around the world earlier this year after releasing his memoir, Spare, and spoke about hisexperiences as a member of the British royal family. TIME will release its annual list of the most influential people for 2023 later this month. In 2022, Gautam Adani, Karuna Nundy and Khurram Parvez were the only Indians to make a list. Shah Rukh Khan could secure a place on the list this year.
His latest release, Pathaan was a huge hit worldwide, grossing over 1000 rupees worldwide. Shah Rukh had taken a hiatus from starring roles for over four years before returning with Pathaan. This year, Shah Rukh will appear in two other films: Atlee’s Jawan and Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki.
Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi will star in Jawan and they will release it in June 2023. In addition to these two films, Shah Rukh will have an extended guest appearance in Salman Khan’s Tiger 3. Shah Rukh Khan will also star in YRF’s Tiger vs Pathaan directed by Siddharth Anand.
