MS Dhoni Completes 5000 IPL Runs in IPL grabbing 7th place in the achiever’s list

Chennai Super Kings captain Mahindra Singh Dhoni had a short and sweet inning against Lucknow Super Giant in Chennai on Monday, but with innings of 3 balls and 12 runs Dhoni has joined the illustrious club of 5000 races of the Indian Premier League. He scored a straight six against Mark Wood and broke the 5,000 mark with his second six. He now has 5,004 runs in 208 innings from 236 games with 24 half-centuries. He is carrying a batting average of 135.54 and an average of 39.09. Former India captain Dhoni became the seventh player to achieve the feat of scoring 5,000 runs.

Virat Kohli

Rohit Sharma

Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is beside this prestigious club. He has made 5,880 runs in 223 innings from 228 matches to his credit. He’s a century and 40 fifties and has averaged 30.15 runs with a batting average of 129.63.

Suresh Raina

Raina retired from cricket but was an important part of CSK during his playing days. The former Indian player hit 5,528 runs carries in 200 innings from 205 games with a century and 39 fifties. He has an average of 32.52 and a batting average of 136.76.

AB de Villiers

The South African ace played for RCB for 10 years and scored most of his runs in the IPL for the same team. As an RCB Hall of Famer, de Villiers hit 5,162 runs in 170 innings of 184 games. He had three centuries and 40 fifties during his IPL season. He has an average of 39.70 and a batting average of 151.68.

Aside from that, Chris Gayle also has 4965 runs in the IPL but he hasn’t belonged to a team in the last two years and the chances of him joining the 5000-run club are slim. Former CSK player Robin Uthappa also has 4,952 runs in 197 innings from 205 games, but he has also retired from cricket.
