Parthiv Patel, JioCinema’s IPL expert, had extremely impressed with how the 19-year-old Suyash Sharma felt the pressure to play in his IPL debut at the legendary Eden Gardens.
He made an impression depending on how he bowled. We saw the Delhi U25 bowling. As Nitish (Frog) said, he’s a different kind of leg shaker. It’s more googly but has rhythm too. We can see his confidence especially when he asks for a DRS call with the captain. You can tell he’s very confident. He has played U25s but he has not played top-flight cricket, nor has Mushtaq Ali or Vijay Hazare, and the fact that he was able to perform in front of 70,000 spectators is highly commendable.
“It’s very difficult to perform under pressure,” Parthiv said. Spin bowlers of KKR decided the game in their favour after a strong start from Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis, with both players bowled in back-to-back overs. Kohli fell to Sunil Narine and du Plessis got out from Varun Chakaravarthy.
