Jofra Archer slams the reporter for creating fake news about his fitness

One of the most successful franchises in IPL history, Rohit Sharma‘s Mumbai Indians is currently under pressure and busy. The men in blue and gold suffered an embarrassing loss to Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans, who are defending the coveted IPL trophy. Mumbai Indians lost to Gujarat Titans by 55 runs in game number 35 which was played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Jofra Archer’s continued absence from the starting XI has been a topic of discussion and none of the Mumbai squad bothered to answer the unanswered questions about Archer’s fitness and availability.

Rumors flared when reports surfaced that Archer had left Mumbai Indian camp in Mumbai to have minor elbow surgery in Belgium. Archer has long suffered from an elbow injury. It has been almost a year since Archer missed out on cricket action, not just for his franchise but

for the England national team.

After June’s IPL and WTC finals, the cricket world is set to witness a much-anticipated Ashes series starring Jofra, a key member of the England Test team.

Interestingly, the man in the spotlight, Archer, has denied all rumors of his moving to Belgium and doesn’t mince words.   When Mumbai took on the Gujarat Titans in the ongoing IPL on April 25, 2023, reports began circulating that Archer had traveled to Belgium for a hypothetical elbow operation that could be his fifth in 25 months. Archer played his last IPL match on April 22, 2023, against the Punjab Kings and didn’t seem embarrassed. He also hits 145 km/h regularly, a sign of his slow return to form. Archer was 42 runs behind and took 1 wicket in his 4-over limit. The Mumbai Indians are already without the services of their spears Jasprit Bumrah and Jhye Richardson.

So far, Jofra had to take the lead in the Bombay attack. But so far this has not happened and it is certainly reflected in the Mumbai attack and the course of their campaign. Out of the 7 games Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians have played so far they have won 3 and lost 4. They now meet the Rajasthan Royals on April 30, 2023, in Wankhede, Mumbai.
