The great Indian pacer from the women’s cricket team, Jhulan Goswami will join the Women’s Premier League (WPL) for the first time as a coach for the Mumbai-based franchise. The former player has reportedly been signed as a bowling coach and mentor for the first season, which is set to take place in March.
According to reports, the top wicket-taker in women’s cricket ultimately chose Mumbai.
Delhi franchise’s Director of Cricket, Sourav Ganguly, confirmed the same and shared the media at Eden Gardens:
“Jhulan has gone to Mumbai. We had given her an offer, but she is going to Mumbai.”
The Mumbai-based franchise has yet to confirm the appointment of Goswami as a member of her backroom staff. A pace that spans her
20-year career Her bowler experience gives the franchise a lot of credit in terms of preparing for the first season. Goswami retired from cricket in September 2022 and has experience as a coach. She has previously played in Bengal and for India as a player-coach and mentor player.Goswami’s teammate and former India national team skipper, Mitali raj, had been hired by Adani Group-owned Gujarat Giants to coach the team in his 2023 WPL. The legendary hitter showed interest in playing but was not given the opportunity.
