It was a tech-laden day at the DC vs KKR match on 20th April. Apple CEO Tim Cook decided to watch the match from the stadium with Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and her businessman husband Anand Ahuja along with BCCI President Rajiv Shukla.
IPL’s official Twitter handle shared, “In 2016, the CEO of Apple – Mr. Tim Cook was in Kanpur to witness an IPL contest in presence of Mr. Rajeev Shukla, vice-president of the BCCI. Fast Forward to 2023, he makes his visit to yet another IPL game by attending the #DCvKKR game in Delhi.”
While being seated at the VIP box Mr. Cook seemed to have a nice time with others & was seen to be having a really good time & enjoying the match. Tim Cook’s surprise appearance at the stadium was met with a huge round of applause
The appearance was in the aftermath of Apple opening their second flagship brand store in Select Citymall shopping mall in Saket, Delhi. The store opening was a highly successful event as hundreds lined up outside the store from midnight prior. The store is Apple’s second flagship store in Delhi after the store in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla complex.
During this recent visit, Mr. Cook met with Mr. Mukesh Ambani at his residence & also met with the PM. His India visit is seen as a move to strengthen the ties between Apple & India as well as Apple looking to increase its footprint in the world’s second-largest smartphone market.
