They will pay an officer of the almighty BCCI a daily allowance of $1000 for international travel and allow them to fly first class. The increase in allocations has circulated among BCCI officials at the Apex Council meeting on Sunday but went into effect last October.
These BCCI officials including the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Co-Secretary are also entitled to Rs. 40,000 per day for meetings within India and business class travel. This is as per the official information shared with the News Media.
For “business trips” they will get Rs. 30,000 per day. You can also reserve a suite room for both domestic and international travel.
The duties of the IPL President are also classified under the civil servant category.
BCCI Apex Council members, including two representatives from the Cricketers Association of India, will get Rs. 40,000 per day for their quarterly meetings and $500 for overseas travel.
In general, however, it is the civil servants who travel abroad for professional reasons.
The Board also revised the allowances for members of their government entities, who will now get 30,000 rupees per day for domestic travel and US$400 for international travel.
BCCI pays them Rs. 3.5 lakh each to meet as members of the Cricket Advisory Committee which elects the head coach of the men’s and women’s national teams. It is unlikely that they will travel abroad in your case, but each of them is entitled to USD 400 per day for this.
Let us note that the position of BCCI officer is honorary. Its well-paid employees like the CEO receive a daily allowance of 650 USD when traveling abroad and 15,000 rupees per day within India.
