Raheem Sterling reportedly ready to rejoin England squad before England vs France

Raheem Sterling has confirmed that he will be back in England’s World Cup camp before the side’s quarter-final against France on Saturday.

The 28-years old winger and attacking midfielder missed the English team’s 3-0 victory over Senegal in the round of 16 matches last Sunday as he flew to the United Kingdom following the robbery at his Surrey home.

The Chelsea man told that he will rejoin the squad in Qatar on Friday. The winger has prioritized his family’s well-being after the above incident. Therefore he spent the week bolstering his security arrangements.

England manager Gareth Southgate also gave an update on Sterling. Southgate told, “I spent quite a bit of time with him this morning, but now I’ve had to pass it on to other people to help him with that.”

“He [Raheem Sterling] will go and deal with that matter. And then we’ll have to take it from there, really,” Southgate added.

,”Our thoughts are with him [Raheem Sterling] and his [Sterling’s] family. It’s a private matter but it’s never easy to see one of your teammates and friends deal with something like that. We’ll have to take it day by day. I’m sure Raheem will speak to the manager and take the best decision for him and his family. That’s the most important thing. We send him our best wishes and hope to see him as soon as possible,” England captain Harry Kane said while answering on a question about Sterling’s availability in the quarter-final against France.
