PV Sindhu Pulls Out of BWF World Tour Finals After Failing To Recover From Stress Fracture

Two-time Olympic medalist, PV Sindhu pulled her out of the BWF World Tour Finals as she is yet to recover from a stress factor on her left ankle. The injury the player is facing is from the 2018 edition of the championship where she suffered on her way to his title win at the Commonwealth Games.

The reason for this departure by PV Sindhu is when her doctor had advised her for some more time ahead of the new Season. Look at what PV Sindhu’s father Mr. PV Ramana has to say on her daughter’s condition.

“Her doctor has advised her to take some more time so that she recovers completely ahead of the new season. She has discussed about the pros and cons but with so much restrictions in Guangzhou and also keeping new season in mind, she has taken this decision,”

He further added by citing the Paris Olympic qualification and the Asian games with 22 tournaments being tough and for which the player has to be fully fit.

“She has already started her training a couple of weeks back and by January she will be fully fit. So, in view of all these reasons, she sent a mail to BAI informing about her decision.

“She will need to be at her best for next year, which will have Asian Games and also the 2024 Paris Olympics qualification. Playing about 22 tournaments will be tough, so she is taking extra care.”

With Sindhu’s exit from the BWF world tour held in Guangzhou, China means, the only hope in the form of HS Prannoy, we have. Prannoy will be the only player representing India in the BWF tournament.

For all your information, the event that is taking place in China, has one of the highest numbers of rising cases (COVID -19) and also has a lot of restrictions to be taken off.
