Sona, a New York restaurant co-founded by the renowned actor Priyanka Chopra, is set to close. Known for its modern twist on Indian cuisine, the restaurant will serve its final brunch on June 30. This announcement comes nearly a year after Chopra ended her partnership with the establishment.

The End of an Era

On June 19,  Sona announced its impending closure through an Instagram post. The statement thanked all patrons: “After more than three remarkable years, Sona will be closing. We have immense gratitude for everyone who walked through our doors. It’s been our greatest honor to serve you.” The post also confirmed that the last service would be on Sunday, June 30.

A Star-Studded Inauguration and a Celebrity Hotspot

Sona opened its doors three years ago with an Indian puja ceremony attended by Priyanka Chopra and her husband, Nick Jonas. The restaurant quickly became a favorite among celebrities, including Mindy Kaling, Anupam Kher, Vicky Kaushal, and Katrina Kaif. The menu featured an array of Indian dishes such as Kerala roast chicken, pumpkin kofta, and paneer lababdar, complemented by a selection of eclectic cocktails.
