Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw and his friend Ashish Surendra Yadav are under arrest after social media influencer Sapna Gill filed a criminal complaint against them with Judge Andheri.  In her complaint, Sapna accused Shaw and his friend of committing inhumane acts, sexually abusing them in a public place. It outrages their modesty and physically assaults them with a deadly weapon.

In a shocking revelation, Sapna said the cricketer put his hands on her breasts and pushed them. She filed an FIR under IPC Sections 354, 509, and 324 for hitting her with a bat. She has attached the medical evidence from a state hospital, which is an important document in proving sexual assault. 

Previously arrested in the same case, Sapna now claims to be a victim.  The Claimant alleges that, for the foregoing prima facie criminal acts, the defendant and his friends were subject to prosecution under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code of 1860.

Therefore, in light of the foregoing acts and with great anticipation, submitted the present Complaint before the Honourable Court for the crimes contemplated by Sections 34, 120B, 144, 146, 148, 149, 323, 324, 351,

A criminal complaint had been filed against Airport Police Station officers Satish Kawankar and Bhagavat Garande. It is under IPC Section 166A for failing to comply with their FIR registration obligations under IPC Section 354. That was against Prithvi Shaw and others over a complaint by a woman. 

“Both matters are due for hearings on April 17,” Sapna’s lawyer, Ali Kaashif Khan, informed Times Now. Specifically, on 16 February 2023, Oshiwara police arrested social media influencer Sapna Gill for allegedly assaulting Prithvi Shaw at a Mumbai nightclub. The fight came after Shaw allegedly refused to take selfies with Sapna and her friends at the Barrel Mansion Club in Vile Parle East. Video of the incident went viral on social media, where Sapna and Shaw fought. Four days after her arrest, a court granted bail to Sapna and the other three defendants. Sapna’s attorney claims Shaw hit her with a bat. Sapna has further alleged in her complaint that FIR made “completely false allegations” against her.

Sapna Gill’s defense attorney, Ali Kashif Khan Deshmukh, had also claimed that Shaw hit the woman with his bat. “At the five-star hotel, social media influencer Sapna Gill came to Prithvi Shaw as a fan to take a selfie with him. They were having a party, Prithvi Shaw was drunk and had a bat in his hand and he hit Sapna with his bat. Then he went to the police the next day and closed the case,” Deshmukh said.
