‘No Messi wasn’t born in UP but…’: Jayant Chaudhary’s dig after Assam MP’s tweet

Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) President Jayant Chaudhary on Monday took a dig at the Uttar Pradesh government using the analogy of Argentina football legend Lionel Messi, claiming, “UP is in a mess”.

Chaudhry came under attack after MP Abdul Khaleque claimed Messi was born in Assam, and then deleted the tweet.

“No #Messi wasn’t born in Uttar Pradesh, but UP is in a mess!!” Chaudhary wrote on Twitter.

Khaleque, who represents Assam’s Barpeta constituency in Lok Sabah, tweeted after Lionel Messi and Argentina’s 4-2 win over France: “Congratulations from the bottom of my heart. Proud of your Assamese connection.”

Here, it is pertinent to write that Argentina won their third World Cup in extraordinary style on Sunday at Lusail Stadium in Qatar. They beat France 4-2 in a penalty shootout after Lionel Messi scored twice in a 3-3 draw. Kylian Mbappe’s valiant efforts went in vain, as he scored a hat trick for France.

Coming to Khaleque’s tweet, users lashed at him. One user Aditya Sharma, questioned the MP?” he asked.

To this, Khaleque replied, “Yes he was born in Assam.”

Another user wrote: “Messi and his wife visited Assam after the World Cup. Never forget where you came from.”

A user Gaurav shared his post while writing and laughing at Khaleuqe, “He is Member of Parliament.”

Apparently, the MP deleted the tweet after realizing his blunder mistake. Khaleque asked people to check his social and his media handles and not spread rumors. He asked people to check his social media handles and not to spread rumours.
