Former New Zealand fast bowler & now commentator Simon Doull recently revealed how he had to stay without food & hidden in Pakistan as the fans of Babar Azam were waiting for him outside after his comment on Azam’s playing style.
It all happened when Doull was in the neighboring country Pakistan for PSL and criticized Peshawar Zalmi Captain Babar Azam for his selfish move while reaching his century in the match against Quetta Gladiators. While performing the commentary for the match Doull said,
“Rather than putting the team first… the last little while, that’s all that has been happening. Rather than looking for boundaries, still, so much firepower to come. Hundreds are brilliant and stats are great, but it has to be team first.”
The comments were not well received by his fans of Azam & he started facing backlash on social media after the video surfaced on the internet. Doull said, Read Also: Saudi Forward Attacker Lauds Messi, Makes Interesting Ronaldo Claim

“Living in Pakistan is like living in jail. I was not allowed to go out as Babar Azam fans were waiting for me. And I stayed without food for many days. Even though I was mentally tortured, by the grace of God, I somehow escaped.”
Doull is a famous voice in cricket commentary & is currently in India for the IPL 2023.
