
All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and fast bowler Mohammed Shami are unlikely to get back in India squad for two matches test series against Bangladesh. The Test series against is scheduled to start on December 14th in Chattogram.
Both players suffered injuries and missed the ongoing ODIs against the hosts. According to reports, Saurabh Kumar and Navdeep Saini will be included as replacements of Jadeja and Shami. Saurabh and Saini are currently on tour with India A in Bangladesh.
Jadeja is still recovering from knee surgery he underwent in September during the Asia Cup 2022, while Shami has shoulder issues. Shami suffered an injury during a training session after returning from Australia, where India lost in the semi-finals against England in the T20 World Cup 2022.
It’ll be the first Test series of India after returning from Australia T20 World Cup.
Earlier, India have visited New Zealand for three matches ODI’s and T20Is. India won the T20 series by 1-0 and lost the ODIs 1-0.
Coming to the India tour to Bangladesh, India have lost two games of ODIs (1st ODI by one wicket, while 2nd by 5 runs). They’ll play their last ODI tomorrow (December 10) at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
Later finishing the last ODI, the two teams will reunite at the same venue on December 14 for thier first test game.
Here, it’s important to write that after India’s losses 2-0 in ODI series, Rohit expressed frustration with India’s growing injury list. Deepak Chahar (hamstring strain) and Kuldeep Sen (back strain) are also on the injury list.
As per latest reports, Rohit Sharma also got injured, and he has flown to Mumbai for specialist consultation and will miss the tomorrow’s ODI. Reports quoted BCCI, “A call on his availability for the upcoming Test series will be taken later.”
