India run-down Australia in the ICC Test rankings to come the top team in the world, right ahead of the World Test Championship Final at Oval. The WTC final is set to play after the completion of the Indian Premier League.
The International Cricket Council displayed the development on Tuesday, 2 May. ICC said that India had taken over the top spot due to the periodic rankings update, which changes weightage.

The Pat Cummins side has risen to the top ranking, deposing India after their 4- 0 palm against England in the Ashes series. India had skidded from the top spot after losing their Test series against South Africa. It was the end for Virat Kohli as the Test Captain for team India.
No chance for change in the points table rather than the top 2 positions only. Still, Ben Stokes’ England, who have Babbled their way through to a series in all conditions barring New Zealand, have bridged their gap. They are now breathing down Australia’s neck right ahead of Ashes 2023.
