In match no. 36 of IPL 2023, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) set a target of 201 runs for Royal challengers Bangalore (RCB) to chase at10.05 runs per over, which appeared too important for the home platoon as they lost by 21 runs. Captain Nitish Rana hit a 21-ball 48 after getting dropped twice.
He played a vital stake in KKR scoring 200/ 5 after being put into the bat first.
In reply, RCB managed just 179 for losing 8 wickets. The stage RCB captain Virat Kohli vent his
frustration after the match, saying “We earned to lose.” Kohli (54 off 37) led the run chase before getting caught out at the deep mid-wicket boundary. For me, isn’t ideal because we take pride in the way we play and tonight we weren’t over to standard and commodity. We aren’t shy to admit it.
